Problems and Complaints

If you are on Regular Medicaid, call Medicaid customer service:

If you are in the Accountable Care Collaborative, a Managed Care health plan, the Primary Care Physician Program, or have problems with your Mental Health Provider:

• First talk with your doctor or with the health plan customer service office. Often this will help.
• You can also call the Ombudsman for Medicaid Managed Care.

The Ombudsman is independent from all of the Medicaid health care plans.  If you have a problem or concern the Ombudsman will work with both you and your doctor or health plan to find a solution that works for everyone.  

Call the Ombudsman Program when:

• You can’t get an appointment or have to wait too long for an appointment
• You can’t see a specialist
• You are not happy with care provided to you or a family member
• Your health plan denied a service     
• You need help filing a grievance, complaint or appeal
• You are not sure whom to call
